About The Job:
The Neighborhood Lending Specialist will report to Mortgage Sales Manager. They will Participate in business development for residential mortgage loans, with an emphasis to serve low to moderate income borrowers and majority minority tracts. Responsible for originating conventional, FHA, VA, MSHDA, portfolio products and any specialty residential mortgages.

What You Will Do:
- Solicits residential first mortgages through contacts with Realtors, Builders, Business Partners, major Employers, and community activities.
- Heavily involved in the community looking for opportunities to serve the low to moderate income borrower as well as the majority minority tracts. This could include but is not limited to:
- Homebuyer seminars
- Community events and educational opportunities
- Properly document and log community activities
- Provides service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgages. Such service include but is not limited to:
- Discuss with loan applicant programs, qualifications, interest rates to determine best program for their needs.
- Encourage applicant to apply in person, by phone or with the online portal.
- Review customer application/documentation for completeness.
- Utilize Encompass to obtain DU/LP findings, and work with operations staff until the loan is closed
- Work with Surefire database management system to stay in touch with customers, past customers, realtors, business partners and other referral sources.
- Attend and/or conduct presentations for Realtors, Builders and community functions.
- Cross-selling other products to loan applicants, if applicable.
- Calls on potential or existing customers. Participates in local community functions and organizations to obtain new or retain existing business.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proven marketing ability.
- Adhere to all applicable regulatory compliance and personnel policies in the fulfillment of the specific duties of the position, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Confidentiality, Information Security, and Ethical Standards. Completes all online compliance and regulatory courses.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent years of working experience preferred.
- Three to five years sales experience, originating conventional real estate mortgage loans preferred.
