Summary of Position: | Assist in the overall coordination of ice arena operations and provide responsible, independent secretarial and accounting support in the delivery of these services.
This position has a varied work schedule which includes some mandatory nights and weekends dependent upon game and event schedules. | |

Required Education: | Satisfactory completion of two years college or equivalent, such as military technical training or business/technical schooling. | |
Required Work Experience: | Two years full-time secretarial or office administrative work experience to include recordkeeping, cash handling/recording, basic accounting, customer service, or athletic administrative equivalency. | |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | One year of work experience in athletic administration. Former student athlete. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources, and provide explanation and interpretation of the policies and procedures of the ice arena operations and all varsity sports.
Assist in ordering, receiving, and computer entry of skate shop inventory; assure accurate processing of invoices for ice arena.
Assist in scheduling all Sports complex facilities including ice, basketball and volleyball arenas, multipurpose gym, locker rooms, and meeting rooms.
Assist with development and implementation of marketing plan for entire facility and all events.
Communicate and coordinate with the online ticket sales provider.
Count, balance, and deposit receipts from facility rental, summer camps, and ticket sales.
Perform all duties and responsibilities as defined in the Secretary Levels 1 and 2 position descriptions.
Plan and implement the printing, sales, and reconciliation of season, home, and away game tickets for all sports.
Train and/or schedule student employees for facilities, ice arena ticket office, and football stadium ticket office.
Other duties may be assigned.
Carries out these responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws.
Maintains the confidentiality of designated information.
Reports to Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities Operations.
Trains and supervises student employees.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: | Participate in annual planning for marketing of youth hockey and arena events for all sports. | |
Skills and Abilities: | Communicate effectively with a variety of customers (students, faculty, parents, staff, alumni, user groups and visitors) in a variety of situations.
Exercise good judgment and tact in dealing with many different publics.
Input, retrieve, download, merge, output, and maintain information from various software programs and systems.
Know ice skating industry and practices.
Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Meet deadlines and demonstrate excellent attention to detail, recordkeeping, organization, and customer relations skills.
Operate various office machinery and equipment including computer, printer, smart phone, copier, adding machine, and credit card terminals.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. | |
