Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion you will play a critical role in the direct solicitation of leadership annual gifts ($1,000 ? $25,000 or more) and foundation and corporate relations to support the Center for Educational Outreach. You will also identify and qualify major gift prospects, and increase the number of leadership annual donors and foundation and corporate giving partners to the Center for Educational Outreach. Frequent travel is required.

This is a hybrid position. You must live within a commutable distance to campus and be willing to work at least 3 days per week in office.
This is a 3 year term-limited position. There will be opportunity for renewal depending on funding at the conclusion of the term.

Advance individual relationships that result in philanthropic contributions:
Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 prospective donors with the capacity to make gifts of $10,000 and more.
Complete at least 100 personal visits and substantive interactions with prospects and donors each year.
Participate in 40-50 gift solicitations per year of $5,000 or above.
Partner with OUD DEI Development Generalist to oversee CEO?s digital fundraising and annual giving strategy, annual solicitations, Giving Tuesday, and Giving Blueday.
Maintain strategic relationships with foundation and corporate giving partners to support the University of Michigan's Center for Educational Outreach programs.
Identify and target new funding opportunities from foundations and corporations that align with the university's mission and strategic state goal
Develop and write grant proposals, funding requests, and reports,
Be a subject-matter expert for DEI fundraising. Meet with development colleagues across campus to coordinate strategies, and use experience to build awareness and agreement around fundraising for University and unit-based diversity outreach programs.
3+ years of work experience in sales, marketing, retail, non-profit, or other related fields or a bachelor's degree
Experience working with four and five-figure gifts or sales and marketing accounts, including the ability to evaluate prospects through the cultivation/solicitation cycle.
Demonstrate cultural awareness, knowledge, and competency while conducting their work. Be a DEI leader in the development community.
Experience working with diverse populations. Have a high-level of awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences and issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Comfortable with software programs for retrieving, organizing and researching appropriate donor/prospect information, and data gathering and manipulation.
Frequent travel required around SE Michigan
