SUMMARY The Sales Representative position will encompass and fulfill SAU Radio station’s missions to inspire Jackson and the surrounding communities with music and conversation that reflects Christ in a relevant way and to share the story of Spring Arbor University through Christian music in south-central Michigan while developing business relationships and sell commercials/underwriting for both stations to secure funds for SAU Radio. Position is part-time (25 hours a week), non-exempt, with commission. (The longevity of the position is contingent on the success of a 6-month period.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the proper personnel.
Provide fundraising/sales support for SAU Radio, with monthly and annual sales goals.
Represent SAU Radio at community events and through networking opportunities.
Host an on-air radio show on SAU Radio as management requested.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, with some evening and weekend assignments.
Serve on university and community committees as assigned and requested.

Meets sales goals for SAU Radio to advance the SAU mission and promote positive branding in the community.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as a member of the University Advancement team, reporting to SAU Radio General Manager/Sales, showing care and respect for team members and the SAU Community by embracing the principles of the SAU Community Covenant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role has no supervisory responsibilities. May supervise student staff as needed in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Good organizational & word processing skills necessary. Experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word required. Ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks & possess good interpersonal, communication and writing skills. Must be willing to travel. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, preferably in sales/marketing, broadcast communications, business, or another related field.
Sales experience is required.
Experience working in multicultural academic environments preferred and individuals from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
