SUMMARY Provide development, configuration and support activities for the university cloud based platforms. The role focuses on collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure that cloud base solutions drive business efficiency and services. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring alignment with other systems to maintain robust performance, security, and integrations.
Key Duties
Design and develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform, including Apex classes, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, and integrations with third-party systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Implement Salesforce configuration changes, including workflows, validation rules, process automation, and data model updates.
Develop and maintain Salesforce integrations using APIs, middleware, and other tools.
Ensure data integrity and optimize Salesforce performanx``ce through best practices and proactive monitoring.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and solution designs.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Salesforce-related issues.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
Incident Management - Provide incident response support for application issues and troubleshoot production issues. Escalate incidents as necessary. Identify, troubleshoot and correct applications issues to maintain high availability of services. Reinforces SLAs to manage end-user expectations.
Stay updated on Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices to continuously improve the platform and processes.
Security - Maintain effective security controls and analyze current security requirements to reduce SAU security posture; analyze current security requirements and make suggestions for improvements toward the goal of a zero-trust model.
Documentation- Develop and maintain design, configuration items, and troubleshooting documentation and develop and document procedures and best practices.
Enterprise Applications Administration
System Integrations - Manage data integrations between platforms and system; includes identity integration, data mapping between external systems, data flows, data quality and monitoring.
Security and Roles - Enforce security policies and procedures to protect applications and data. Manage User Provisioning and Roles and train helpdesk to augment user onboarding where needed.
Security - Enforce security policies and procedures to protect application gateways (web, APIs) and data between systems.
Adoption - Manage the user adoption by providing training and by extending utilization of product functionality.
Compliance - Assist stakeholders with addressing compliance concerns within the system
Other Duties & Work Conditions
May be required to work some night and weekend hours to support upgrades or resolve an outage.
On-call availability to support escalated incidents.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet service objectives within IT.
Reporting Responsibilities Reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Technical problem-solving skills and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Proven experience as a Salesforce Developer.
Proficiency in Salesforce development tools and technologies, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL/SOSL.
Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, security, and declarative features.
Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications using REST/SOAP APIs or middleware.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Working knowledge of IT service methodologies within Higher Education that includes Student, faculty and Academic Support.
Required Education and/or Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related work experience as System Administrator or similar IT operations role. Work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 2 years of experience in software support, development or a similar IT role.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD tools, and Agile methodologies.
Salesforce Developer certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II).
Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or other Salesforce products.
Knowledge of data migration tools like Data Loader, Salesforce Data Import Wizard, or ETL tools.
Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for front-end development.
HTTP Web services; NGINX, Apache, IIS or NodeJS.
SQL Tools and ETL.
Java, NodeJS, Python or C#
